The Caledon Wiki is an independently hosted archive of history and culture of the Independent State of Caledon in Second Life. Content is provided by the members of this community to enhance their neo-Victorian, 19th-century, and Steampunk roleplay in the 3D metaverse. Created by His Grace Otenth Paderborn, Duke of Murdann, Caledon Wiki is intended to mirror the portions of the slhistory.org wiki which pertain to the Independent State of Caledon and her allies, and to preserve our community's unique history and culture.

When the Duke of Murdann initially consulted with Excalibur Longstaff, Sir Excalibur was concerned that the space needed to house the wiki was more than the Caledon Forums could accomodate. Once it became apparent that the extra space was available, the Duke entrusted Sir Excalibur with the job of curating the wiki.

The wiki officially became http://www.CaledonWiki.com on January 1st, 2008.

Museum and Archives[]

On the second Caledon Founding Day, February 26th, 2008, an anonymous benefactor generously acquired the site at 7 India Lane in Caledon II for the Caledon Research Institute.

The site now has a four-story tower for the archives. The remaining majority of the grounds is principally devoted to an open-air research and museum facility, currently hosting Research Fellow Professor Sadovnycha's latest work on establishing an outpost at the Earth's core. The legendary Corepheus earthship from Sadovnycha's original expedition is also on display here.

Staff[]

Caledon Wiki is led by a staff of nine curators and librarians (called sysops and bureaucrats in other MediaWiki implementations). In addition to the Duke of Murdann and Sir Excalibur, the staff includes Valentine Janus, JJ Drinkwater, Vi Paravane, Edward Pearse, Dyne Talamasca, Zoe Connolly, and KlausWulfenbach Outlander.
