Building the network
MichaelRyan Allen Came up with the idea in mid 2008. A way to find any avatar on TSL using a vast network of Land Nods to track avatars throughout the grid. He started out small scale with just three regions working. Then he partnered with The Striatus Corporation to provide him with hundreds of 13m^2 parcels grid wide. Allen rolled out the network in 3 hour shifts ever day for a week until the mojority of the grid had Locanate service nods.
In late 2008 residents from all of TSL were complaining about the network, claiming that it broke the TOS and their privacy. Allen was quoted "I respect privacy of residents, [Allen Corp] will be releasing opt-out features." and Allen Corp released a simple opt-out to not be able to get located.
