  1. A texture applied to an avatar through the appearance window. Skins are often mistaken for shapes, which determine the actual framework of the avatar. Skins are cosmetic additions to shapes, and often are highly detailed, containing muscle shading, makeup, skin tones, and body hair. Only one skin and one shape can be worn by an avatar at any one time.
