In Second Life a slave refers to an individual who has accepted a submissive role in a D/s relationship that is centered around roleplaying ownership and devotion to the Master/Mistress. Because of the wide diversity of views on D/s relationships, there is no universally accepted way of differentiating the different roles. What one person calls a slave, another might call a pet or a toy. Slavery is often defined in the context of a roleplay, including Gorean roleplay or dungeon roleplay.
