Talk:Wells Fargo
From Second Life Wiki
Could we get a source for the claim that Active Worlds predated Second Life in licensing its technology? All I was able to find pointed to Second Life having done it first. --RBK Pertwee 21:25, 22 Jun 2006 (EDT)
Well, as the guy who actually developed the Wells Fargo banking / ecommerce system, I can safely assure you that they looked to SL first and AW only after beta :) As for an official source, gee, i have a flood of project-related email in my gmail box... and I suppose the move to AW was mentioned in the forums. - Was actually referring to this line "This is not the first time that an online world has licensed its technology to create a completely separate world within their own. Active Worlds did it years earlier." Unfortunately, the user who added this line is currently sitting out a ban, so I have no way to verify it. --RBK Pertwee 20:56, 23 Jun 2006 (EDT)
- I'm reverting this to the original point. I see what Eep is talking about, but in AW's case it's still the same company, still the same program. I'll try to clear up my wording to make this more clear. --RBK Pertwee 13:05, 26 Jun 2006 (EDT)
I'm confused, is the first section "Stagecoach Island" supposed to be a quoted resource or is it supposed to be part of the article? If part of the article the POV is completely wrong. Oz Spade 19:29, 23 Jun 2006 (EDT)
- I can clean that up, but if you have specific advice, that would help. --RBK Pertwee 20:56, 23 Jun 2006 (EDT)
- SI still isn't the first instance of a "pocket universe", RBK. I suggest you become familiar with Active World's history; the Outer Worlds universe opened in 1998 and is SEPARATE from the main AW universe. EduVerse opened in 1999. Many other universes exist. Stagecoach Island galaxy (not a universe but still separate from the main AW universe) opened in 2006. AW even has solar systems. AW does not have inter-solar system/galactic/universal teleportation (yet--that I know of anyway--at least not pubically anyway). -Eep 15:17, 26 Jun 2006 (EDT)
Rolled back the last edit. No citations, no references. Only a claim that the Stagecoach Island section was false. No contribution to information or fact. --Tateru 03:04, 8 Oct 2006 (EDT)
