Valkyrie Alliance

The Valkyrie Alliance is one of the aged armies on the Teen Grid today. The Valkyrie Alliance(or VA) was the successor of Dragon Honor Army, which was created by LEO Damone. LEO Damone is still the Commander of VA, although, Vattic Gray, who is also a Commander, is seemingly more active than Damone.

Early History
The Valkyrie Alliance is the successor of Dragon Honor Army. DHA, as it is commonly called, was a faction created by LEO Damone soon after he joined Second Life. After some time of fierce fighting and brutal battles, DHA was destroyed and disbanded by New Rome and other opposing factions which had infiltrated DHA. With DHA destroyed Damone was now out on an army. In hopes of reorganizing ranks and starting anew, Damone created the Valkyrie Alliance in the Summer of 2006. Although Dragon Honor Army was a rather relaxed army, Damone planned on going much further with the Valkyrie Alliance.
Contemporary History
The Valkyrie Alliance was already rather far ahead for being a new army seeing as it was a successor for an already powerful army, DHA. VA, in it's rising state, had control of three major plots, the Monolith Complex, the Leviathan Compound, and the much smaller Ageis Outpost. The Monolith Complex and the Ageis Outpost, however, were soon lost. VA now had only one major parcel known as Leviathan, which would become VA's home for as long as the present. The Leviathan Compound consists of two very large plots on either side of a Linden operated road in Mizithra. Currently there is some 200 sq meters of land in Mizithra that is neither VA owned or Linden operated. The current VA base was built in June 2008 by LEO Damone, the commander of VA. For most of VA's existence they were allied with the grid power known as Black Talon. In around the Spring of 2008, VA became Black Talon's strongest and most reliable ally in the quest to take down the powers of New Rome, Army of the Sith Republic, Ne'tra, and British Military. In November of 2008 came the first major reformation program in Valkyrie history. At this time, the army was flooded with many neophytes who didn't know the first thing about SL combat due to the poor training program of the time. From January to early March of 2009, VA performance dropped to a low. Battle rates had dropped lower than they were in late Summer of 2008. In late March of 2009 the performance of the Valkyrie Alliance started rising steadily and is still regaining its power today.
2008
The year of 2008 was a year of many ups and downs in the Valkyrie Alliance.
GFTO: The First Encounter
In early 2008, Somewhere between February and March, one of VA's allies, AUN, had been struggling in a war with BM. Dread Hudson, a Zealot at the time, Decided to get VA Involved in the AUN - BM war. T3hh4x Orr, leader of BM, Created a group called GFTO (Grid Factions Treaty Organization). The group consisted of multiple groups allied with BM. GFTO Assaulted VA Constantly. VA was defeated in 2 weeks. The group then went dormant.
Resurrection
In late March to early April, VA started to get back on its feet. It started holding its first training sessions since its defeat at the hands of GFTO. The group rose quickly. VA became a very strong force, presumably greater than the Pre-08 VA. The group consisted of elite fighters. VA was soon recognized as a superpower once more
Peak: Summer 08
In mid to late April VA was back on its feet and becoming stronger every day. In May the group was stronger than ever. These are the times where people considered VA Quality over Quantity. It had less than 60 Members, but those members were dedicated and elite fighters. VA Made numerous assaults on ASR, BM, Sparta, AZ/Merc, UGWT, Talon, and other groups. VA won almost every battle it was confronted with. Not only was the base impenetrable when they were on defense, but VA was unstoppable on offense. One member, Unseen Zehetbauer, is considered to be one of the best leaders and the best Field Commander ever in VA. He was known for his merciless and relentless assaults. He rose morale in VA to an all time high. Unseen was later found to be a spy for ASR. Near the end of June. Field Commander Evinco Revnik (Who is also Power Fluno, Harper Frak) Turned his back on VA. He deleted the base and attempted to sell the land in Northern Mizi. His attempt to sell the land failed due to lack of permissions. In late June - early August. VA had been talking with Kharne Spyker (The Roman Leader) and Copper Shriner. The VA "Council" eventually decided to ally with Sparta. A Few weeks later. Copper Shriner killed Sparta and went to Talon.
GFTO: Second Encounter
In early June, T3h, decided to remake GFTO. Though this time, its goal was the utter destruction of the Black Talon and its allies. T3h invited VA into GFTO. Some other member groups were. Arditi, ASR, Rome, BM, Ne'tra, and AZ. Field Commander Adam2436 Gontineac and Commander LEO Damone realized how useless and pointless GFTO was. GFTO was a group that restricted almost all combat within the major armies, and forced its member groups to focus on one enemy. Members of the group were sending spies from their armies into VA. Rome had been trying to convince the member armies into annexing with Rome. It seemed as though the main point of GFTO was to make T3h feel special about himself. Adam and LEO started talking to Exuvae Hykova, Leader of Black Talon, into forming an alliance. After the alliance was made, VA prepared to leave GFTO along with Ne'tra. VA left, then Ne'tra left the next day. The only remaining armies were BM, Rome, and ASR. A few days after VA left GFTO, Adam's account was hacked. All the members in VA were ejected and the land was terraformed badly. After everything was restored, VA decided to go on the offensive. After a few weeks, GFTO was in shambles. Communication within GFTO ceased. GFTO was dead and they failed to "Kill Talon". T3h still denies the obvious.
Fall
The creation of GFTO killed most warfare on the grid. The effects of its existance still exist today. The grid was in a downhill slide and many groups died.In late june VA Still stood strong, but internal conflicts eventually effected it greatly. Unseen Zehetbauer was found to be a spy. Many higher ups left the group due to the lack of respect or feelings of betrayal by VA Members. In response, VA mass recruited and tons of combat inefficient soldiers were invited into the group, the group hit an all time low of combat efficiency and morale. Talon tried to save VA on multiple occasions. According to Talon, all attempts to rebuild VA had failed. Talon later broke its alliance with VA. In late december of 2008, VA started showing signs of improvement, but very minimal. Throughout December and into Early 2009, officers have been working hard on restoring itself to its former glory. Though the entire Teen Grid barely shows any signs of improvement.
Rank Structure
Below are the ranks of the Valkyrie Alliance.
Neophyte
Neophyte is the lowest rank in the Valkyrie Alliance. They make up a majority of the front line force and are generally used as cannon fodder. Generally they do not have much say in the policies of VA or anything of the like.
Marine
Marine is the rank which follows Neophyte. Those Neophytes that prove themselves as adept fighters are granted the rank of Marine. Marines have the right to organize small surgical strikes on an enemy fortification during a battle with the approval of a Sergeant or above.
SpecOps
SpecOps are the 6th in command special forces of VA. They have proven themselves as naturally adept fighters as well as tactically intelligent fighters. They have the rights to participate in all Black Ops activities and missions.
Sergeant
Sergeants are 5th in command in the rank structure of VA. They are elite members of the Valkyrie Alliance who have shown themselves in experience and loyalty in the Valkyrie Alliance. They have the right to organize assemblies, approve raids, and enforce the policies of the Valkyrie Alliance.
Zealot
Zealots (zel-aught) are 4th in command above Sergeants. Zealots are the generals of the Valkyrie Alliance. They are highly experienced members who have proved their loyalty time and time again. They have the rights to call assemblies, organize assaults, and speak on behalf of the entire army.
Captain
Captains are 3rd in command of the Valkyrie Alliance. They are the elite of the elite in VA. They are the generals that fight with undying loyalty and incredible experience. These "Pariahs" of common armies are held in the highest regard within Valkyrie. They have the rights to do almost anything for our cause.
Field Commander
These are the 2nd in command officers of the Valkyrie Alliance. They are the elite of those that are the elite of the elite. Their knowledge in tactics is astounding. Their fighting is exceptional. They have proven their undying loyalty countless times. They have the power to do most anything in the Valkyrie Alliance.
Division Leader
The Division Leader is the co-1st in command of the Valkyrie Alliance. They have virtually the same powers as the commander and assist the commanders in most everything in the Valkyrie Alliance.
Commander
The Commander is the leader of the Valkyrie Alliance. They have absolute authority.
Current Hierarchy
The Hierarchy of VA includes the Zealots, Captains, Field Commanders, Division Leaders, and Commanders of the Valkyrie Alliance. The current occupations of those positions are listed below:
